Portugal was seen as a major contender to win theÂ Euro 2008,butÂ qualificationÂ wasn't easy. Portugal finished second in their group behind Poland and they qualified for the final stage. The first game was against Turkey and it was won 2â0. Their second game was against the Czech Republic, a 3â1 success. Against Switzerland they lost 2â0.
