Necaxa was founded on 21 August 1923 by ScotsmanÂ William H. Fraser, anÂ engineerÂ and owner of the Light and Power Company (CompaÃ±Ãa de Luz y Fuerza) in the state of Puebla. As a student in the United Kingdom Fraser played football and was a strong advocate for the sport. Fraser consolidated the teams of the Light and Power Company and the Street Car operatorsÂ CompaÃ±ia de Luz y Fuerza and TranvÃasÂ into one.
